MET,
n muscle energy technique; therapy that primarily targets soft tissues and uses the intrinsic strength of muscles to mobilize the joints. Applications of MET include relaxing, stretching, strengthening or restraining muscular function, disabling active trigger points, augmenting circulation throughout the body, loosening an inhibited joint, or preparing adjacent tissues for joint manipulation.
