Raniclor is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections, including otitis media, lower respiratory tract infections, pharyngitis/tonsillitis, and urinary tract infections.
The results showed that after a two-year follow up the residents who received extra oral care had a greatly reduced risk of pneumonia and were half as likely to die of lower respiratory tract infections.
Most of the time it is difficult to differentiate between upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) and lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI) because in most respiratory illnesses both the upper and lower portions of the tract are affected simultaneously or sequentially (20).
