n.
A motor neuron whose cell body is located in the brainstem or the spinal cord and whose axon innervates skeletal muscle fibers. Also called final motor neuron.

Upper and lower motor neurone degeneration leads to progressive weakness of
Progressive Bulbar Palsy (PBP) affects about 25 percent of sufferers and also involves both the upper and lower motor neurones but is characterised by dysarthria and dysphagia, and predominantly affects older women.
Later, the patient developed weakness of both upper and lower limbs that was of lower motor neurone in nature.
