1. the anterior concavity in the curvature of the lumbar and cervical spine as viewed from the side.
2. abnormal increase in this curvature.

lor·do·sis (lôr-dss)

An abnormal forward curvature of the spine in the lumbar region. Also called hollow back, saddle back.

Etymology: Gk, lordos, bent forward, osis, condition
an abnormal anterior concavity of the lumbar part of the back.
