livedo /li·ve·do/ (lĭ-ve´do) [L.] a discolored patch on the skin.
livedo racemo´sa , livedo reticula´ris a red to blue, netlike mottling of the skin on the limbs and trunk, which becomes more intense on exposure to cold.
livedo [livē′dō] Etymology: L, liveo, bluish spot a blue or reddish mottling of the skin that worsens in cold weather and is probably caused by arteriolar spasm. Cutis marmorata is a transient form of livedo. See also livedo reticularis. livedo [lĭ-ve´do] a discolored patch on the skin, usually associated with cold weather. adj., adj liv´edoid. livedo racemo´sa (livedo reticula´ris) reddish blue, netlike mottling of the skin; it is exacerbated by exposure to cold.
