Cardiology A widely accepted postulate that hyperlipidemia–eg, cholesterol, and to a lesser degree, other lipids in the circulation is responsible for CAD, the major cause of death in the US, levels which, when altered by dietary or pharmacologic manipulation, ↓ risk of ASHD-related morbidity.
