ligamentum /lig·a·men·tum/ (lig?ah-men´tum) pl. ligamen´ta   [L.] ligament.
ligamen´ta fla´va  yellow ligaments: a series of bands of yellow elastic tissue attached to and extending between the ventral portions of the laminae of two adjacent vertebrae, from the axis to the sacrum. They assist in maintaining or regaining the erect position and serve to close in the spaces between the arches.
