ligamentum /lig·a·men·tum/ (lig″ah-men´tum) pl. ligamen´ta   [L.] ligament.
ligamen´ta fla´va  yellow ligaments: a series of bands of yellow elastic tissue attached to and extending between the ventral portions of the laminae of two adjacent vertebrae, from the axis to the sacrum. They assist in maintaining or regaining the erect position and serve to close in the spaces between the arches.

A large ligament often involved in spinal stenosis is the ligamentum flavum, which runs as a continuous band from lamina to lamina in the spine.
The psychometric properties of the scale were tested on patients aged 50 years and older who had LBP, buttock pain, or lowerextremity pain that was typically exacerbated with lumbar extension and evidence of degenerative lesions of the facets, disks, or ligamentum flavum on imaging studies.
