Q. All I need to know is that what should be a diet for a person with pretty sedentary lifestyle? Hello Folks, I hope I could get some help in this place. All I need to know is that what should be a diet for a person with pretty sedentary lifestyle? I hope diet is very important and plays a vital role in determining the fitness level. I have browsed through various sites but I feel most of them are confusing. I knew I cannot follow everything but in general I would like to know so that I will be aware.

A. What worked for me to lose 90 pounds and keep it off for 9 years is to make sure I don't keep junk food in the house to tempt me. My husband loves his chips and soda, but he keeps it at work or in his car and only brings in what he will eat. That really helps, plus I taught myself how to cook lowfat foods with different spices and lots of veggies and fruit. Do drink fruit juice instead of fresh fruit, to many calories and not filling. Like the last person said avoid white foods and any processed food, fresh is best. And just because it is healthy doesn't mean you can eat all you want, you still need to watch your portion sizes. Read all labels when you go shopping, a good rule is if you can't pronounce the words pass on the food! It may take a few times of eating a new food before you really like it, so give it time.
