Etymology: Gk, trapezion + eidos + AS, ban
the carpal bone, located in the distal row of carpal bones between the trapezium and the capitate. It resembles a wedge, with the broad end at the dorsal surface, the narrow end at the palmar surface. Also called lesser multangular bone, os trapezoideum.
