hemiblock /hemi·block/ (-blok) failure in conduction of cardiac impulse in either of the two main divisions of the left branch of the bundle of His; the interruption may occur in either the anterior (superior) or posterior division.

Arrest of the cardiac impulse in one of the two main divisions of the left branch of the atrioventricular trunk.

hemiblock,
a failure to conduct a cardiac impulse down one division of the left bundle branch, such as an anterior superior or a posterior inferior hemiblock.

hemiblock [hem´e-blok″]
failure in conduction of electrical impulse in either of the two main divisions of the left branch of the bundle of his; the interruption may occur in either the anterior (superior) or posterior (inferior) division. Hemiblock accompanied by an anterior wall myocardial infarction is a particularly serious finding.
left anterior hemiblock a conduction block of the anterior superior division of the left bundle branch; left anterior hemiblock with acute anterior wall myocardial infarction is a particularly serious finding.

hemiblock
