hemiblock

failure in conduction of electrical impulse in either of the two main divisions of the left branch of the bundle of his; the interruption may occur in either the anterior (superior) or posterior (inferior) division. Hemiblock accompanied by an anterior wall myocardial infarction is a particularly serious finding.
left anterior hemiblock a conduction block of the anterior superior division of the left bundle branch; left anterior hemiblock with acute anterior wall myocardial infarction is a particularly serious finding.

arrest of the impulse in one of the assumed two main divisions of the left branch of the atrioventricular bundle; that is, in either the anterior (superior) division or the posterior (inferior) division.
