| Rhinosporidiosis predominantly affects the mucous membranes of the nose and nasopharynx; it also occasionally involves the lips, palate, uvula, maxillary antrum, conjunctiva, lacrimal sac, epiglottis, larynx, trachea, bronchus, ear, scalp, skin, penis, vulva, and vagina. The easiest way to identify the opening of the nasolacrimal duct is to put light digital pressure on the lacrimal sac at the medial canthus while simultaneously observing the inferior meatus with the endoscope. Obstruction of the lacrimal system usually occurs in the distal portion of the lacrimal sac or in the nasolacrimal duct. |
