Kopan's needle

    0.01 sec.
Kopan's needle
[kō′pənz]
a long biopsy needle used to pinpoint the location of a breast tumor on x-ray film. The needle is inserted into the approximate location of the tumor and is left in place during radiography so that it can be repositioned if necessary. In some cases the site is further identified for the surgeon by injecting a colored dye such as methylene blue.
