Klumpke's palsy [kloo͡mp′kēz] Etymology: Augusta Dejerine-Klumpke, French neurologist, 1859-1927 atrophic paralysis of the forearm and hand. It is present at birth and involves the seventh and eighth cervical nerves and the first thoracic nerve. The condition may be accompanied by Horner's syndrome, ptosis, and miosis because of involvement of sympathetic nerves. Also called Dejerine-Klumpke's paralysis. How to thank TFD for its existence?
