Thorel's bundle a bundle of muscle fibers in the human heart connecting the sinoatrial and atrioventricular nodes.
the bundle of modified cardiac muscle fibers that begins at the atrioventricular node as the trunk of the atrioventricular bundle and passes through the right atrioventricular fibrous ring to the membranous part of the interventricular septum where the trunk divides into two branches, the right bundle [TA] (crus dextrum [TA]) of the atrioventricular bundle and the left bundle [TA] (crus sinistrum [TA]) of the atrioventricular bundle; the two crura ramify in the subendocardium of their respective ventricles.
See bundle of His.
atrioventricular (AV) bundle
a band of atypical cardiac muscle fibers with few contractile units. It arises from the distal portion of the AV node and extends across the AV groove to the top of the interventricular septum, where it divides into the bundle branches. Also called bundle of His.
bundle of HisA bundle of specialised cardiac muscle fibres which carries the electric impulses for the co-ordinated contraction of the heart. The bundle begins at the AV node located at the inferior interatrial septum, and passes into the subendocardium through the right fibrous trigone to the interventricular septum, after which it divides into right and left limbs that pass along either side of the septum, branching to the walls of the ventricles.
atrioventricular bundleBundle of His, AV bundle Anatomy A group of specialized cardiac fibers that conduct impulses from the AV node to the ventricle
bundle of Hisor
atrioventricular bundlea group of specialized muscle fibres in the mammalian heart carrying electrical signals from the ATRIOVENTRICULAR NODE down the septum between the ventricles and eventually dividing up into Purkinje fibres. See HEART and Fig. 189 .

common atrioventricular canal
a congenital cardiac defect in which both sides of the heart share the same atrioventricular orifice. Called also persistent atrioventricular canal, atrioventricularis communis.
a mass of cardiac muscle fibers (Purkinje fibers) lying on the right lower part of the interatrial septum of the heart. Its function is the transmission of the cardiac impulse from the sinoatrial node to the muscular walls of the ventricles. The conductive system is organized so that transmission is slightly delayed at the atrioventricular node, thus allowing time for the atria to empty their contents into the ventricles before the ventricles begin to contract.
partitioning atrioventricular canal
during embryological development partitioning of the cardiac chambers and their orifices may be incomplete, leading to fatal cardiac defects, e.g. persistent atrioventricular chamber.
persistent common atrioventricular canal
left and right atrioventricular stenosis are recorded; the former is an acyanotic defect, the latter is more serious and a cyanotic defect.
see bundle of His.

may be identifiable on finding of systolic murmur (incompetent valve) or diastolic murmur (stenotic valve) over the apex of the heart with maximum audibility over the left or right sides, depending on the side involved.
