Etymology: Mathis Jeune, French pediatrician, b. 1910
a form of lethal short-limbed dwarfism characterized by constriction of the upper thorax and occasionally by polydactylism. It is inherited as an autosomal-recessive trait. Also called asphyxiating thoracic dysplasia.

Rachael Johnson, 21, from Annfield Plain, Durham, was born with Jeune's Syndrome and had a kidney transplant when she was just seven years old.
Rachael's kidneys failed when she was just 18 months old because of a condition called Jeune's syndrome.
Rachael, who has two sisters, Michelle, 34, and Rebecca, 19, was born with Jeune's Syndrome, a genetic disorder which means her limbs and fingers have not developed properly.
