Each injection of local anesthetic was preceded by the administration of 2 mL of iohexol 300 (Isovue, Nycomed, Princeton, NJ) to ascertain proper needle placement as well as adequate vertical and caudal spread of the injectant.
Iohexol (Omnipaque [240 mg iodine/ml], Nycomed Imaging AS, Oslo, Norway) was chosen as the contrast medium, and a 26-gauge, 1-in needle was used for injection.
