International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association

A credentialing body, first formed in 1988 as the International Movement Therapy Association, whose remit is to grow the field of somatic movement education and therapy, ensure that training programs uphold high standards of education and practice, and maintain a professional registry of their graduates. ISMETA educates the general public about its work and helps colleagues in complementary and alternative medicine, human services and the performing arts understand its benefits.
