After my initial wound cleaning via saline solution and sterile swabs, I cleared obtruding debris from the wound, and dressed it with menolin, inadine, mepilex and felt padding to reduce pressure from the shoes.
Basic treatment available on a daily basis consisted of Burnshield (for use up to 24 hours after injury), silver sulphadiazine and Jelonet; more expensive options, including Aquacel, Inadine, Bactigras, Acticoat and Actisorb, were sometimes (and inconsistently) available, and the rationale for their use was not always clear to the staff.
Its product portfolio includes Silvercel non-adherent, Actisorb, Inadine, Promogran, Promogran Prisma, Adaptic Touch and Tielle.
