The day is celebrated to promote international exchange of knowledge and practice in theatre arts including drama, dance, music and theatre in order to foster peace and solidarity among people.
Also, theatre is such a varied form of entertainment that I am certain that there can be no-one who would not be affected by some of the issues raised in theatre productions.
At that point it hadn't crossed my mind that I would work in theatre, never mind run a theatre.
