[-blot′ing]
a method for identifying antigens. The antigens are allowed to adhere to cellulose sheets and are identified by staining with labeled antibodies. The method is also used to detect monoclonal proteins. See also Western blot test.

Comparison of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) antigens from the 2 strains by sodium dodecyl sulfate--polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and immunoblotting showed that they differed in O-repeating units (Figure, panel B).
