1. stable; not subject to change.
2. a quantity that is not subject to change.

association constant  a measure of the extent of a reversible association between two molecular species.

binding constant  association c.
Michaelis constant  a constant representing the substrate concentration at which the velocity of an enzyme-catalyzed reaction is half maximal; symbol K M or K m.
sedimentation constant  see under coefficient.
