iliopsoas [il′ē·ōsō′əs] Etymology: L, ilium + Gk, psoa, loin muscle one of the pair of muscle complexes that flex, adduct, and laterally rotate the thigh and the lumbar vertebral column, consisting of the psoas major and the iliacus.
