conduit /con·du·it/ (kon´doo-it) channel.
ileal conduit  the surgical anastomosis of the ureters to one end of a detached segment of ileum, the other end being used to form a stoma on the abdominal wall.

ileal conduit
Etymology: Fr, conduire, to guide
a method of urinary diversion using intestinal tissue. The ureters are implanted in a section of dissected ileum. This section is sutured closed on one end; the other end is drawn through the abdominal wall (right lower quadrant) to create a stoma. The patient wears a pouch to collect the urine.

a channel for the passage of fluids or air.

ileal conduit
the surgical anastomosis of the ureters or a bowel segment to one end of a detached segment of ileum, the other end being used to form a stoma on the abdominal wall.
vascular conduit
artificial blood vessel; used in repair of pulmonic stenosis by providing a bypass of the obstruction and in correction of arteriovenous fistulae.

use of a segment of the ileum for the diversion of urinary flow from the ureters.
ileal muscular hypertrophy
a cause of chronic or intermittent colic of horses characterized by loud ileocecal gut sounds and a palpably enlarged terminal ileum on rectal examination. See also intussusception.
