IL9

A gene on chromosome 5q31.1 that encodes interleukin-9, a cytokine which regulates various haematopoietic cells, stimulating cell proliferation and preventing apoptosis. IL9 acts via interleukin 9 receptor (IL9R), which activates different signal transducer and activator (STAT) proteins, linking it to various biological processes.

The decrease was due principally to decreases in costs related to the EVIZON(TM) (squalamine lactate) program for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration, clinical trial costs for the LOMUCIN(TM) program and third-party contract research for the IL9 program.
Genaera's other development programs, squalamine for oncology, LOMUCIN(TM), IL9 antibody and MSI-1436 (trodusquemine), will also be discussed.
