An abnormally high concentration of phosphates in the blood.

hyperphosphatemia (hī´purfos´f-tē´mē),
n an increased concentration of inorganic phosphates in the blood serum. Hyperphosphatemia may occur in childhood and also in acromegaly, renal failure, and vitamin D intoxication. Normal adult range of serum inorganic phosphorus is 2.5 to 4.2 mg/100 ml.
