huperzine A (hōōˑ·pr·zēn),
n a potent alkaloid obtained from the
Huperzia serrata club moss; used to improve memory both in healthy individuals and in those suffering from memory loss. Precaution advised for those with high blood pressure, kidney disease, and liver disease. Self-medication is not advised.
