The use of human shields is a clear violation of Article 51(7) of Protocol 1 of the Geneva Convention. Considering that Hamas has killed children (seven alone in the 2001 Sbarro pizzeria bombing) in its suicide attacks and encourages Palestinian kids to become ``martyrs,'' and Hezbollah uses children as human shields in its blend-in brand of warfare, why would any teacher offer their wholehearted support? In the same speech, Gibbons also said that it was "too damn bad we didn't buy them a ticket" to become human shields in Iraq. |
