WHAT YOU CAN DO: Droppings from house dustmites are thought to trigger eczema in many sufferers.
Experts believe the increase in incidence is due to improved hygiene with less exposure to bacteria and infections at an early age, and to an increased level of house dustmites caused by fitted carpets, soft furnishings, central heating and double glazing.
