During Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon, Azza, 11 at the time, was probably the youngest hospital volunteer in the country, running from one injured victim to another trying to help.
With help from a community library and the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital volunteer office and medical school, Michael created materials, developed presentations, designed flyers and T-shirts, and recruited medical-school students as speakers for a series of classes on medical topics.
