zygosity
[zīgos′itē]
the characteristics or conditions of a zygote. The form occurs primarily as a suffix denoting genetic makeup, referring specifically to whether the paired alleles determining a particular trait are identical (homozygosity) or different (heterozygosity) or to the condition in twins of having developed from the fertilization of one ovum (monozygosity) or two (dizygosity).
