Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia Convention of the United States, n.pr an independent organization that works closely with the Food and Drug Administration and other homeopathic groups like the American Association of Homeopathic Pharmacists and American Institute of Homeopathy. The organization is responsible for continuously updating and producing the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States or HPUS, which provides guidelines for the regulation of homeopathic drugs. It has been continuously published since 1897, but unofficial homeopathic pharmacopoeia, which preceded the publication of HPUS, began in 1841. The FDA officially recognized HPUS in 1938, and the American Institute of Homeopathy published it until Homeo-pathic Pharmacopoeia Convention of the United States was formed in 1980. Also called HPCUS. How to thank TFD for its existence? Tell a friend about us, add a link to this page, add the site to iGoogle, or visit webmaster's page for free fun content. |
