Hexamita a genus of flagellated protozoa in the family Hexamitidae. Hexamita columbae occurs in the small intestine of pigeons and may cause enteritis. Hexamita meleagridis Hexamita muris occurs in the intestines of rodents and causes enteritis. Hexamita pitheci occurs in the large intestine of rhesus and other monkeys.
