mixture /mix·ture/ (miks´cher) a combination of different drugs or ingredients, as a fluid with other fluids or solids, or of a solid with a liquid.
mix·ture (mkschr)
n.
1. A composition of two or more substances that are not chemically combined with each other and are capable of being separated.
2. A preparation consisting of a liquid holding an insoluble medicinal substance in suspension by means of some viscid material.

Etymology: L, miscere, to mix
1 a substance composed of ingredients that are not chemically combined and do not necessarily occur in a fixed proportion.
2 (in pharmacology) a liquid containing one or more medications in suspension. The proportions of the ingredients are specific to each mixture. Compare compound, solution. See also mistura.

I like the heterogeneous mixture here in New Mexico.
In the aforementioned process, after the coupling step the heterogeneous mixture is separated using hydrophobic-interaction chromatography (HIC), further improving the quality of the tandem dye.
