Herpes viruses
A group of viruses that can cause cold sores, shingles, chicken pox, and congenital abnormalities. The Epstein-Barr virus which causes mononucleosis belongs to this group of viruses.

Two Types of Herpes Virus The herpes simplex virus called herpes viruses dangerous to humans.
Once inside the body it is broken down into the active ingredient Aciclovir, which is an antiviral medicine used to treat infections with herpes viruses.
Herpes has some what of a bad reputation; there are five types of herpes viruses that are very common causing conditions such as cold sores, shingles and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Epstein Barr.
