Various cancer types have been shown to be responsive to oral melatonin (10-50 mg daily), including breast cancer, non-small-cell-lung cancer, metastatic renal cell carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and brain metastases from solid tumors. However, hepatocellular carcinoma also can exhibit increased signal when it is marked by high levels of vascular endothelial cell growth factor (VEGF). We report the case of an isolated zygomatic metastasis in a patient who had been previously treated for hepatocellular carcinoma with orthotopic liver transplantation. |
