Q. How do I know if someone’s planning to commit suicide? A guy I know is acting weird lately…saying some scary stuff about dying. How can I know he is not joking? And how can I stop him?

A. Often times suicidal individuals reach out for help by speaking about it. They usually tell you that they will be or are committing suicide. Just ask him like Helen said. It's the best way. You don't want to beat around the bush with such a subject.

Q. My friend is imprisoned for a planned murder. My friend is imprisoned for a planned murder. Family and friend assumes that he is bipolar, but as yet he is not been diagnosed. He has answered yes to all the questions in a questionnaire to indicate bipolar. Bipolar do commit murder often and would he have been manic when he did it?

A. It is not uncommon for someone suffering with bipolar to commit crimes, mostly this happens in a manic state. His family can talk to his lawyer about getting him a pychological evaluation, if he is dagnosed bipolar they can begin to treat him. He will still be responsible for his actions but they can work with him to make him better. Good luck

Q. My high BP is in control and planning for a baby. What should I do to increase the chance of a healthy baby? I am 37 and It is high time that I need to have a baby. I am not aware of the complications involved in late pregnancy. I am hypertensive and I do fear of problems that can affect my pregnancy or can let my child get affected. My high BP is in control now and I am planning for a baby. I want to know where and how can a hypertensive be affected during pregnancy? What should I do to increase the chance of a healthy baby?

A. first, you need to be aware that you have 2 pregnancy risks condition now : your history of hypertension and your age. the older a woman is getting pregnant, the higher the risk will be.

about the hypertension, it is good if you can have it under control, and all you need to do is consult your problem with your ob-gyn doctor, and follow your doctor's every advise. beside the therapy (anti-hypertension drugs) you might need to consume, you can also try some do-it-yourself advise :
- try to be more relax (get away from your daily stress, especially if you're a working woman)
- control your diet (hypertension is closely related with what you eat)
- have enough rest
