The forerunner to, and equivalent of, New York City’s Park Avenue, Harley Street is where the most prestigious private medical specialists/consultants practice in London. Located in the City of Westminster, it hosted 20 doctors in 1860 and 1500 when the NHS was established in 1948; it and the surrounding neighbourhood now host 3000 doctors
