Gyrostemon a genus of Australian plants in the family Gyrostemonaceae; contains an unidentified toxin which is reputed to cause pulmonary edema in horses and nervous signs in camels. Includes G. australasicus, G. ramulosus. Called also camel poison. Gyrostemon tepperi contains an unidentified toxin which causes incoordination and cystitis.
