In contrast to vancomycin, ceftobiprole has in vitro microbiological activity against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens.
It exerts strong antibacterial effects against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, aerobes, anaerobes as well as Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Vancomycin is an important agent for the treatment of serious infections caused by gram-positive bacteria (1).
