glycosuria

glycosuria

Sugar in the urine. This is one of the cardinal signs of DIABETES.

glycosuria

the condition where glucose is excreted in the urine because the blood sugar level exceeds the normal (hyperglycaemia). Glycosuria is one of the symptoms of DIABETES.

glycosuria

; glucosuria urinary excretion of sugars
  • alimentary glycosuria transitory presence of glucose in urine following ingestion of a large amount of sugar or starch

  • renal glycosuria recurrent or persistent excretion of glucose in urine, in association with raised blood glucose levels; characteristic of uncontrolled diabetes mellitus

glycosuria (gli´kōsŏŏr´ēə),
