Gloriosa
garden plant of the family Liliaceae; contains a colchicine-like toxin which causes excitement, diarrhea and alopecia. Includes G. carsoni, G. simplex, G. superba. Called also glory lily, flame lily.

Some of the plants look a bit like select garden flowers, as indeed they should, for garden plants of gloriosa daisy, Mount Shasta daisy and several of the Michaelmas asters have been derived from the plants of the field.
The beetles, Chrysina gloriosa, get their greenish color from microstructures in their exoskeleton rather than from pigment.
