A recently discovered peptide hormone secreted by cells in the lining of the stomach. Ghrelin is important in appetite regulation and maintaining the body's energy balance.

The researchers found that the treadmill ( aerobic) session caused ghrelin levels to drop and peptide YY levels to increase, indicating the hormones were suppressing appetite.
Ghrelin hormones indicate hunger; they tell you when your body needs to eat.
Results of preclinical trials performed on animals showed low ghrelin levels result in reduced cholesterol and sugar levels, regardless of high-fat diets.
