A formulation of procaine developed in Romania by an Ana Aslan, which is administered by injection and has been used for rejuvenation, increasing longevity, enhancing the immune system, relieving depression, lowering blood pressure and levels of cortisone in the circulation and treating arthritis; the agent is not available within the US.
  
The US National Institute on Aging reviewed Aslan’s data on Gerovital’s effects and refuted both her methods and her data; it was unconvinced that there were any anti-ageing effects.

This year the manufacturer has relaunched the Farmec Natural product line and launched new hair-care products under the Gerovital Plant brand.
No health claims for Gerovital have been substantiated, and FDA considers it an unapproved new drug.
