Gandharva Veda

    0.03 sec.
Gandharva Veda (gnˑ·dhär·v vāˑ·d),
n.pr ancient classical music of India used in Ayurveda, the components of which—ragas (melodies) and rhythms—are believed to rectify imbalances in doshas. Listening to a particular raga at the right time brings about harmony between the body and nature while the same raga may have an antagonistic effect at another time. See also doshas.
