renal glucosuria

An autosomal recessive disorder (OMIM:233100) characterised by a normal fasting serum glucose levels and persistent isolated glucosuria, with a normal glucose tolerance test.

Molecular pathology
Defects of SLC5A2, which encodes a sodium-dependent glucose cotransporter involved in glucose reabsorption in the proximal tubules, cause renal glucosuria.

1. the presence of glucose in the urine.
2. dextrosuria. Called also glycosuria.
