Frost procedure

surgical nail matrisectomy technique; L-shaped incision (with horizontal arm of L positioned over nail matrix and directed towards outer border of toe) is made through nail plate, underlying nail bed and matrix, so that the nail wall can be reflected back to allow dissection of outer margin of nail plate, nail sulcus and associated matrix pocket (see Figure 1)
