Freibank system

a German system of handling meat products of inferior quality from a health point of view. Similar provisions apply in many countries. Meat from carcasses of late pregnant or recently calved cows, from carcasses affected by local lymph node involvement with tuberculosis or caseous lymphadenitis or tissue parasites not communicable to humans is released under special licenses that require its treatment by heat before sale.
