Foster Kennedy's syndrome [fos′tər ken′ə·dē] Etymology: Robert Foster Kennedy, American neurologist, 1884-1952 a syndrome characterized by retrobulbar neuritis, central scotoma, optic disc atrophy on the side of the lesion, and papilledema on the opposite side, occurring in tumors of the frontal lobe of the brain that press downward.
