feet. See foot. feet see foot. Patient discussion about Foot (disambiguation). Q. What's the thing with having diabetes and flights? I heard that I might have problems with my feet and I should buy special socks. A. Hello. I cannot answer anything about the "flights", but I can really attest to diabetes and feet pain. A lot of diabetics get what is called "Charcot foot". I have that now and am NOT diabetic, although I am learning that if a specific blood test called a "Hemoglobin A1C" is elevated, then it may be helpful to go thru the whole realm of glucose challenge tests, etc, just to have everything checked out. However, it is predominantly diabetics who suffer with Charcot foot. I am learning that in the beginning of the advanced stages, except for putting orthotics in your shoes, there is not too much that can be done, except soaking the feet (no more than 10 minutes a day in warm water only), wear good socks and perhaps get orthotics for your shoes. Initially I found a Sport/Ski shop that sold orthotics to put in ski boots that really helped, but now it is getting a little more complicated. Charcot is NOT fatal. It does affect 1 in about 2,500 people. D Q. I have a constant foot pain during night what can i do to ease the pain? I am a diabetic (type 2) for 22 years. recently i started to suffer from a recurrent foot pain. The pain is only at night time, and i cant make it stop. i tried Tylenol and NSAIDs but nothing helped. what can i do? A. You are describing a Neuropathic pain disorder. This is a very common symptom that occurs with diabetes. To treat it you need to take better control on your glucose level. In addition you can try anti epileptic drugs - I heard it can help, but must admit i never tried it myself. Q. My two years old boy started to limp and to complain about foot pain. what can it be? My two years boy is complaining about a left foot pain. the pain starts in his thigh and radiates down. He doesn't have fever or any other symptom. He started waking in the age of 1.5 years and he never walked well. He seems like he is never balanced on his left leg. His labor was traumatic, and I needed a C-section. what can be the source of his complaints? A. I think your boy meets the criteria for hip Dysplasia.
